After a very long hiatus I have resurrected the Design Challenge with a bit of a twist. The Design-Tat course was never intended to be more than a first step, but during the course a lot of people got their toes wet, but weren't sure what to do next. Sometimes it just helps to have a place as a sounding board to kick around ideas, a place to ask for suggestions, a place to look for inspiration. So I created the Yahoo Group Tat-it so that people could continue to grow and expand their tatting skills. Sometimes it just takes a little nudge to get you off and running again and the Yahoo Group, which is available for anyone to join, will also let you post the results of your efforts and get feedback on it.

I don't have the time or energy to copy the pictures and show you what's going on here, but I can post the challenge so you can keep abreast of what's happening.

We began with tatting a snowflake that incorporates Josephine knots. This month the challenge is to design something that uses a 6 ring daisy. It might be as small as an earring, or as large as a tablecloth. You could design a bookmark or create a necklace. Your the designer, you decide what you want to make. If you want to see what everyone else is working on, you'll have to check out the Yahoo Group Tat-It which is open to anyone to join.
